Welcome to Peter Annett's Web Site

Bart SimpsonAustralian Flag

Welcome to my web site! This is my first attempt at constructing a Web Site, so I apologise for the lack of high tech crap, and quality of photo's. I have also dedicated this site to the memory of my parents Med (1926-1998) and Joan (1927-2003).

I have just began creating an Annett Family Tree, and would be most grateful for any Annett family history. Any information received will be treated confidentially with dates of the living excluded on the website. I am interested in gathering info on all Annett's, no matter what part of the world you may be from.
So all Annett's and any other people with something interesting to say, please send me an email!

Who is Peter Annett ?

Just to give you some idea of who I am, here is a little history. I was born in Casterton Victoria Australia( Peter 3/9/62), the youngest of three children of Med and Joan Annett. I have one sister (Kaye 8/11/52) and a brother (Paul 28/4/60). I lived with my family on a farm at Bahgallah (Approx 10km from Casterton). I went to the Bahgallah State School between 1968 and 1974,then to the Casterton High School between 1975 and 1980.

In 1981 I commenced my working career with the Commercial Bank of Australia (Later to become Westpac) in Heywood which was about 80km from Casterton. In 1984 I was transferred to Bacchus Marsh which is about 60km from Melbourne. I decided in 1985 on a career change, so left the bank and commenced with Union Bulkships (A shipping company) in Melbourne. I worked at Union Bulkships until 1997 when I was made redundant. From 1997-2010 I worked at Concord Park Pty Ltd in Laverton who were an interstate transport company. In 2010 I joined Jim's Window Cleaning. I have been married since 2001 to Gramatia, and have two children (John born 2002) and (Kristina born in 2006).

In Memory of William Melville (Med) Annett 17/7/26 to 19/7/98

Med Annett

Med Annett was my father, and his passing in 1998 from a stroke came as a terrible shock to the whole family. He is sadly missed by us all. Here is a little history about him.

William Melville(Med) Annett was born at Wallacedale on 17/7/26,the seventh child of eight(5 Boys/3 Girls) to John (1882 to 1963) and Penny (nee Osborn 1889 to 1997)Annett. He spent the first 5 years of his life at Buckley Swamp (near Hamilton), and then his family moved to Henty on to a share dairy farm (Wurt Wurt Court). They spent the next 13 years here during which time he started school at the Henty State School before moving to the Wurt Wurt Koort State School. He was a gifted student who found learning easy, and he was also a good sportsman who excelled in athletics and Cricket. Soon after WW11 the family moved to Bahgallah, where they purchased a dairy and sheep farm.

Soon after arriving in Bahgallah he met and began dating Joan Standing (26/6/27),and they were married in 1950.Dairy farming continued to be the major farming activity, while still devoting much of his time in assisting his parents to develop and run their farm which was about 3km away. He was always very community orientated and was involved in most local activities (playing cricket, football club, fire brigade, school committee's, Hall functions etc).

He was survived by his wife Joan(1927-2003),daughter Kaye, sons Paul and Peter, brother Alex (1916-2001) and sisters Jean Jordan (1920-2009)and Isobel Humphries (1927-2004) He is sadly missed by all, and will be remembered always.

Casterton current weather conditions and forecast for next 7 days.
