Kangaroos-(North Melbourne Football Club)AFL Premiers 1999.

One of my favourite passtimes is following the Kangaroos in the Australian Football League.I rarely miss going to a game when it is played in Melbourne. In the last decade or so the competition has gone from being a Victorian(Melbourne) based to a national one which now has 16 teams(1-Sydney,2-Adelaide,1-Brisbane,1-Perth,1-Fremantle,10-Melbourne).I have followed the North Melbourne Football team("Kangaroos"from 1999)for nearly 30 years,I attend most games with Glenn Davis who has followed them for just as long. The highlights have been the 1975,1977,1996 and 1999 Premierships. The 1999 Grand Final victory was particularly sweet this year,as they suffered a terrible loss in the 1998 Grand Final having looked to be certain victors at one stage.

Some Images of Grand Final Celebrations 25/9/99

Maurice,Peter and Glenn

Here I am having a celebratory drink with Maurice Fitzgerald and Glenn Davis before going to Kangaroo's Grand Final Function. As you can see we had already begun the celebrations.

Wayne Carey,How we done it
Wayne Carey explains the absolute joy of victory, after experiencing the despair of defeat 12 months earlier. The Premiership Cup is also clearly visible(I was thinking about nicking off with it.)

Corey McKernan & Peter Annett
With Corey Mckernan who had a fantastic finals series which resulted in the premiership.

Troy Makepeace,Glenn Davis & David King
Glenn Davis with Troy Makepeace(Reserves Best & Fairest winner)and David King enjoying the celebrations.

Peter Annett and John Blakey
Here I am with veteran player John Blakey. He's still playing well and hopefully will play for another 2 years.

Peter Annett & Scott Welsh
This is Scott Welsh who grabbed a Premiership medallion, and is now heading back to Adelaide. All the best Scott, but please don't play well against us.

Glenn Davis & Byron Pickett
Here's Glenn Davis with Byron Pickett, who had a brilliant year, and struck fear into the heart of every opposition player.Well done Byron!

Sorry about the ordinary quality of the photo's(partly due to too much alcohol consumption by the photographer and the photographee's),but I'm new to all this, and hopefully it will improve in the future.
